LIL WAYNE SITS AT NUMBER ONE
Lil Wayne outshines first week CD sales by selling a little over 1 million albums of Tha Carter III. This is a giant leap from his sales of Tha Carter II, which only sold 238,000 copies in 2005. 50 cent previously held the record for his album The Massacre which sold around 1.14 million in the first week in 2005. The success of Lil Waynes sales has a lot to do with his new single "Lollipop" that holds at number one on the Billboard 200.
