Amy Winehouse
Mitch Winehouse, the father of Amy Winehouse, reported to the Sunday Mirror that Amy has been diagnosed with Emphysema. He states that it is from her excessive use of smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine. Her father made this statement, "To think this could be my beautiful 24-year-old daughter's life is preposterous. But if drugs mean more to her than breathing properly, then so be it. But the doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her. It's been a tough week."
The discovery of her illness was made by doctors after Amy was admitted to the hospital last Monday after she collapsed at her home. Mitch also told the Sunday Mirror that Blake has apologized for getting Amy into drugs and has been giving Amy support since the results arrived. All criticism and paparazzi aside, Amy has a wonderful support system in her family, who is determined to get her through this tough time and beat the disease.
The diagnosis will not affect Amy Winehouse's performance at the Glastonbury music festival this Saturday. The Doctors have said that she is capable of performing.
